Career XP: A Career Launchpad for Graduates and Younger Workers in 2026

Inspired by the world of gaming, Career XP framed career development as a journey, not a destination. After all, just like in games, progress isn’t about one big win, but discovering new tools and resources along the way while unlocking new skills and accumulating experience.

Hence the term XP – short for Experience Points.

Every conversation and connection made at Career XP was designed to help attendees walk away a little more informed, confident, and career-ready.

And for many, this journey begins with uncertainty. After all, navigating a job market without the right guidance and support can feel overwhelming.

Shawn Huang, Senior Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, shared about how new graduates are often anxious about finding a job.

Shawn Huang, Senior Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Manpower and the Ministry of Finance, shared about how new graduates are often anxious about finding a job. “Some of them experience certain skill gaps, for example, in resume writing or preparing for interviews — and a lot of career coaches here at WSG will be able to help them.”

“This is also about the government’s commitment to make sure that we take fresh graduates through their career paths going forward,” he added. “Along with career coaches who will help them with planning their careers.”

5 experiences, 1 immersive journey

Career XP has its immersive layout split into five distinct zones, known as Levels.

At the heart of Career XP was its immersive layout split into five distinct zones, known as Levels, each offering a different way for attendees to gain XP at their own pace:

  • Level 1: Adventure Guild
  • Level 2: Mentorship Hive
  • Level 3: Knowledge Barracks
  • Level 4: The Arena
  • Level 5: Ascension Portal

Whether attendees came in with a clear objective or were still figuring out their next quest, the Levels allowed them to choose their own adventure and hop between conversations, resources, and opportunities that matched their career stage and interests.

“The biggest advantage of attending the event and meeting industry professionals is that it gives you the confidence to go ahead and take the necessary steps in your career journey,” said Gauthama Siddarth, an attendee at Career XP who recently graduated from university.

“When you’re at home and doing your own research, you may not be getting the right advice or going in the right direction, and that can sometimes be overwhelming. Talking to the people here gave me a lot of hope and confidence for my next steps.”

A one-stop career ecosystem

Today’s career landscape is full of options. And knowing where to start isn’t always easy, especially for fresh graduates and younger workers who are still finding their footing.

It’s why Career XP was born. So attendees could learn, ask questions, take action, and tap into career guidance, industry insights, and real opportunities — all under one roof in one central space.

To do this, the event connected participants with experts and practitioners from across the career ecosystem, helping them explore confidently, turn career questions into real conversations, and take practical next steps.

For those seeking personalised guidance, career advisors were available throughout the event in Level 2’s Mentorship Hive to offer live, on-the-spot career advice. Whether it was a quick career health check or resume alignment, these one-to-one sessions gave attendees clarity and confidence.

“These kinds of opportunities and events are very useful. There are different panel sessions with different speakers, so it opens you up to understand more about the working world – compared to what you just know,” shared Pranav Krishna, a National Youth Council Youth Speaker.

“For fresh graduates, they’re making a lot of big decisions right after graduation. And I think it’s important to have a lot more information before they make those decisions.”

Level 3’s Knowledge Barracks brought networking partners and industry experts together to share insights into their respective sectors.

Partners offered practical resources and guidance on how jobseekers could better position themselves in a changing job market.

Partners offered practical resources and guidance on how jobseekers could better position themselves in a changing job market, while industry experts led session talks and fireside chats — sharing advice grounded in real-world experience.

These conversations helped demystify industries that may have felt out of reach and gave attendees clarity on where their skills could take them next.

Completing the experience were employers from diverse industries in The Arena on Level 4, where real job opportunities were showcased for attendees to explore on the spot. Jobseekers were able to speak directly with employers, ask questions, and gain a clearer understanding of hiring expectations across different roles and sectors.

What stood out was the level of engagement. Attendees were not just browsing booths — they were booking advisory sessions, asking thoughtful questions, exchanging contacts, and actively exploring opportunities across industries.

Some may have entered the event unsure, but they certainly left with clearer direction and renewed confidence to take the next step forward.

Let’s level up together, Singapore!

Career XP wasn’t just about jobs. It was about empowerment. Meeting people where they are. Acknowledging that careers are rarely linear. And creating space for exploration without all the added pressure.

By bringing together employers, experts, advisors, and partners under one roof, the event helped jobseekers move from uncertainty to action, one level at a time.

If you’re looking forward to more career launchpads for fresh graduates and younger workers, don’t worry — it’s not game over. More events, resources, and opportunities are on the way.
